Sapa kat sini minat dengan team arsenal?
MB tak ada lah minat team arsenal ni, tapi kawan MB yang menggunakan nick "kakisamun" minta MB tolong buka topik untuk team arsenal ni.. So, sesiapa nak bincang pasal team arsenal boleh ar lepak dalam ni bertukar2 pendapat.. apa dar arsenal, dengan villa seri saja... elok lah tu william gallas di pecat dari jadi kapten arsenal, sebab dia belum bersedia nak mengGALLAS tugas tu dengan baik.. hahahahaha!!

The Gunners moved into fourth place with a 1-0 win courtesy of William Gallas' second-half header, writes Stewart Coggin. It was a match of few chances, with Tony Adams' Pompey side happy to sit back and soak up the Gunners' pressure.
The win came just two days after Arsenal threw away a 2-0 lead to draw against Aston Villa. "It was a big three points for us because we gave a lot physically but in the end only got a disappointing point at Villa," Wenger said. Andrei Arshavin's agent insists his client remains a New Year transfer target for Arsenal.
The Russian playmaker, currently on the books of Zenit satu Petersburg, has been told that he is free to move on during the January transfer window, should a suitable approach for his services be lodged. His availability has alerted a number of Europe's top clubs, with the 27-year-old widely regarded as one of the continent's most prodigious talents. Tottenham, Arsenal, Real Madrid and Barcelona have all been linked with the midfielder, and are unlikely to be put off by a reported £12million price tag. Arsene Wenger has already confirmed that he is in the market for creativity, with the Gunners keen to find cover for the injured Cesc Fabregas. Interest With North London now rumoured to be Arshavin's most likely destination, his agent has confirmed that Arsenal remain a viable option. "We know that Arsene Wenger likes the look of Arshavin," Dennis Lachter said in the Daily Mirror. "But I like the look of Angelina Jolie and it doesn't always mean you get what you want. "Arsenal were interested in signing him last summer and they still are, so we will wait and see what happens. "There has been a lot of interest in him this time as well from England, Spain and Italy."

skill dan permainan mereka diasah disini , macam Hendry, Pires dll.... suka cara coach Arsene Wenger beli pemain2 muda yang perlu diasah bakatnya dan ditonjolkan kehebatan mereka.... boleh kejar lagi point Blues & Reds tu....masih panjang lagi perjalanan BPL..... ----------------- bila waktu telah terhenti.... teman sejati hanyalah amal....

jue - .. masih ada kekurangan lah Arsenal ni.. aku rasa "midfield player" tak mantap sangat.. aku kagum dengan "midfield2 player KOP".. mantap.. wenger perlu mencari seseorang untuk tengah.. tambah2 fabregas "injury" untuk 4 bulan.. dan kalau betul-betul Rosicky tak boleh pulih kena cari pengganti juga.. tapi tengok lah bulan Jan nanti.. kalau wenger beli pemain PSV(aku lupa nama dia) itu maknanya kerjaya Rosicky sebagai pemain bola sepak akan berkubur..

Arshavin pun Wenger berminat.. tapi Wenger ni pendirian dia ialaha dia tak suka beli "star player".. dia suka pupuk asah bakat dari awal.. lembaga Arsenal beri dia 30 juta pound untuk cari pemain.. tapi dia tak gunakan lagi.. entahla..

.. memang betul.. selalunya adibayor akan "hold" bola di bahagian serangan.. memang kena ada.. macam dulu Hleb dan Rosicky boleh.. sekarang ni kurang sikit bahagian sayap ni.. Nasri lambat sikit.. dan tengah lah.. macam dulu Flamini laju dan rajin.. cepat naik dan turun.. cuba tengok kebanyakan gol pihak lawan hanya "counter" dah dapat jaringkan gol.. pertahanan pun lemah juga.. gol dari sepakan sudut pun selalu dapat pasukan lawan..

West Bromwich Albion have completed the loan signing of Arsenal striker Jay Simpson
The 20-year-old had been expected to link up with the Baggies after manager Tony Mowbray revealed his interest over the weekend. Both clubs have now confirmed that Simpson will spend the rest of the season at the Hawthorns to build up his first-team experience. Simpson, who spent last season on loan at Millwall, made his Arsenal debut in the Carling Cup against Sheffield United earlier this season. He then scored twice against Wigan Athletic in the same competition before featuring in the 2-0 defeat at Burnley in the quarter-finals. Unknown quantity However, he has yet to make a Premier League appearance for Arsenal and Mowbray recently admitted he is taking a gamble on the youngster. "I would suggest Jay is an unknown quantity at Premier League level," conceded Mowbray. "Can he score goals? I don't know. "But we'll hopefully give him an opportunity to see if he can. "He's obviously had a very good upbringing at Arsenal and every player needs an opportunity." Simpson signed a new long-term contract at Arsenal on Monday and joins Gavin Hoyte in securing a loan move away from Emirates Stadium, with the full-back having moved to Watford.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believes the club can 'dominate the Premier League', despite falling 10 points behind leaders Liverpool this season
The Gunners have endured a disappointing first half of the campaign after suffering five defeats in their opening 20 matches. Wenger's side currently sit fourth in the table, but the Frenchman feels his current crop of players have the quality to claim glory. He said in the Evening Standard: "I'm convinced that we are on the right track. We are not missing 10 apa cent, we are missing one or two apa cent. "We can get that one or two apa cent easily and then we can dominate the league. Respect "I'm disappointed that the team is not getting the praise or the respect it deserves at the moment, but we have to keep going. We will keep going with this spirit and we will turn people around. "Getting that final apa cent or two is down to being a bit more relaxed and composed when the situation calls for it. "My hopes and aims for 2009 are to support this team. I believe strongly in this team and if they get the support I think they will be rewarded in 2009 because they deserve it. "They have talent and I'm sure they will be rewarded."

Arsenal chairman Peter Hill-Wood has revealed he has turned down a transfer request from defender Kolo Toure
The centre-back has failed to secure a regular first team spot this season and Manchester City are thought to be considering a bid. Hill-Wood is aware that the £10million-rated Ivory Coast international has indicated that he is keen to leave Emirates Stadium, but he insists the Gunners are not looking to sell. "I know about it (the transfer request)," Hill-Wood said in the Daily Star. "But we are not going to accept it. "We are not looking to let any of our players go and he is under contract - and we expect him to honour it."

This season was never likely to be the making or breaking of Arsene Wenger as a manager, for his reputation precedes him. However, and it is a fairly weighty however, the forthcoming January transfer window could be a microcosm to how Arsenal's season pans out. James Dall wonders if the frugal Frenchman will find that 'special' someone...
How new boys have done Wenger was minimalistic with his recruits in the summer, bringing just four fresh faces to the club. The club's plight this term, which will be discussed in length in my soon-to-be-published 'Arsenal half-term report', closely correlates, in most eyes, with the dealings (or lack of) gone by. The decision to allow key and experienced members to leave raised eyebrows. Mathieu Flamini, Alexander Hleb, Jens Lehmann and Gilberto Silva all sealed permanent moves away from the club. Wenger's so-called replacements failed to spin journalists into words on a serious title challenge ahead. Three of Wenger's four signings, meanwhile, were 21-years-old or younger. Aaron Ramsey, just 17, arrived from Cardiff City for £5million. The Gunners secured his signature ahead of competition from Manchester United and Everton. Here Arsenal's reputation of grooming talent paid dividends. Ramsey is a fine player with serious talent. But is he what the Gunners needed? The Wales international has impressed during his few appearances, even scoring a goal in the UEFA Champions League. The central midfielder is gutsy and possesses impressive technique at such a young age, although his mould resembles Cesc Fabregas and many argue Cesc needs a foil rather than a mirror. Ramsey will prove to be a brilliant acquisition, but not in the very near future. And it is the 'now' the fans pine for. Amaury Bischoff was landed from Werder Bremen for an undisclosed fee, with Wenger pronouncing that the decision to bring the France-born playmaker to Emirates Stadium was a 'gamble'. Bischoff has struggled with injuries in the pasti, and his arrival on the treatment table seemed to make sense what with the several injury-plagued stars Arsenal already have on their books. Bischoff, who has represented Portugal Under 21s, underwent rehabilitation in order to work his way back to fitness and has since made two appearances for the Gunners in the Carling Cup. He has impressed for the reserves and is an attack-minded player, offering the idea that he could be seen as a long-term replacement for the crocked Tomas Rosicky. Samir Nasri has proved, by and large, to be a success. Purchased from Marseille for a fee in the region of £12million, the tricky Frenchman has delivered the goods. A right-footed player on the left, similar to that of Robert Pires, he has scored vital goals from midfield, proving far more effective than the departed Hleb. However, Nasri's surprisingly swift adaptation to England's top flight has come at a cost via, you guessed it, injury. A spate of starts has been stirred in with setbacks, which in turn has hampered the squad with few natural options for the left flank. The youngster has been sound when available and is likely to continue to grow into his role. Mikael Silvestre was the last through the Ashburton Grove door. A surprising capture, indeed. Condemned in certain circles as a Manchester United spare part, while tipped to be a shrewd bit of business from Wenger. The outcome has been neither really, maybe even leaning a little towards the former. The experienced Frenchman joined for an undisclosed fee from fierce rivals United. After arriving with a lack of fitness he has filled in at centre-half in fits and starts. His displays have been mixed without setting the world alight. Silvestre does provide okay cover, but one may wonder whether investing substantially in a world-class defender might have been a better option (see more on this below). What they need I will recieve no Nobel Prize for telling you Arsenal need a towering centre-back and a gutsy centre midfielder. Those points have been spoken and written about to death. This is because the Gunners' weaknesses are largely obvious to most spectators. Also, many look to last season, analysing where things went right and wrong. Like my Portsmouth 'transfer tips' it is logical to work from front to back. In goal, Arsenal have Manuel Almunia as No.1 and youngster Lukasz Fabianski as back-up. Almunia, 31, is fine. He is an alright goalkeeper. Calm (unlike Lehmann) although probably not world-class. Addressing this area, though, should be far from high on Wenger's list of priorities. Defensively, the Gunners need much work (I write this as long ball after long ball from Liverpool finds Arsenal wanting). Wenger seems a little perplexed at his best central two when all are fit and available. Former captain William Gallas' future remains in doubt and could leave amid rumours of interest from Italy and his homeland France. Johan Djourou has partly solved the problem of aerial concern but the Swiss is still learning. They need someone rugged. Fabregas, when he returns from injury in four month's time, needs a new Flamini. I do not mean to lambast Alexandre Song, but he is not of Cesc's level, he is not his soul mata. Flamini brought the best out of Fabregas last term and Wenger must surely be aware that the capatain is their best player. To impede Cesc's quality is like peeing on your favourite trainers. Injuries have also exposed the lack of depth out wide, and an exciting wideman could be on Arsene's mind if one becomes available. Up front, things are good. Eduardo's return is a huge boost while there is decent competition with a solid range of experience and youth. This is largely the point I am trying to make when you look all over the park at Arsenal. Denilson, for example, will eventually be a fine player but should his role model really be a still very young Fabregas? They need quality to learn from. They need the proverbial 'experience'. What they'll get You will have probably noticed I have not touched on speculated targets. Wenger is impossible to second guess. Who, honestly, predicted the captures of say Eduardo or Sagna? But it is these types of signings that supporters would not begrudge: largely unknowns but with undoubted class. Regarding the rumour mill, Gervinho, Bafetimbi Gomis, Felipe Melo, Parfait Mandanda and Axel Witsel, to name but a few, have been mooted as Arsneal targets. As mentioned in the first paragraph, Wenger is looking for 'something special' in the transfer department. lah Prof plays his cards close to his chest. He does have money at his disposal and make no bones about it, the board will back him until the cows come home should he tell them of his target(s). Wenger's conundrum centres around his fear of impeding the youth in his side. He is all too aware of bringing someone established in and then limiting the chances of others. The argument, though, is that cream rises to the top. A blog I read not so long ago pointed out that Fabregas burst onto the scene during the days of Patrick Vieira et al - so it can be done, worry not Wenger. Barcelona enforcer Yaya Toure would probably be a good start. What will Arsenal get? If nothing, then expect some unrest. Wenger needs to bolster - especially now following the colossal blow over Fabregas' injury, the loss of the Spaniard is devastating -and his decision not to in the summer has cost his side dear (many league defeats and counting). If he makes that mistake again he could be looking at an even stickier summer in 2009 with more than just demands of signings coming from fans and hacks alike. Fan's view - Tom Reardon Arsenal really need to break tradition and get out there and do some serious spending this January! I would say Yaya Toure for the middle of the park, Ashley Young (unlikely as it is that Villa would let him go) to replace Rosicky and get to the by-line, Michael Turner/Phil Jagielka at the back (and get rid of "his sulkiness" W. Gallas) and if Newcastle would let him go then Given as I think he is just a touch above Almunia (despite how much I like him for his loyalty) in class! Also I would let Bendtner, Eboue and Song go so Wenger never has another chance to give them a 'run-out'!!!

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has insisted he is not frustrated about the club's protracted pursuit of Zenit satu Petersburg playmaker Andrei Arshavin.

Arsenal fans are daring to dream Their side reached the Champions League Semi-Final for only the second time in their history on a wonderful Wednesday night at Emirates Stadium. The tie was delicately poised at kick-off. Arsenal were in the driving seat having grabbed that useful 1-1 draw at Villarreal last week. However the job was far from done. And they went at the work with gusto tonight. Theo Walcott shovelled a shot over Villarreal keeper Diego Lopez in the 10th minute. On the hour Emmanuel Adebayor steered home a crucial second and, nine minutes later, Robin van Persie rammed home from the spot after Walcott had been fouled in the area. Sebastian Eguren received a second yellow card for protesting the penalty. It was a sad end to Villarreal’s involvement in this tie. This had been 180 minutes of pure football played between two sides with a similar philosophy. However, right now, this Arsenal side are irresistible. A season of desperate lows and fierce criticism could just end in historic fashion. Wenger’s side now face the considerable mite of Manchester United in the Semi-Finals. The main talking point in the press box when the team-sheet came out was the absence of Bacary Sagna. Apparently the right back had picked up a virus overnight so Emmanuel Eboue deputised. It meant that only Kolo Toure was first-choice in the defensive five. Manuel Almunia (ankle), William Gallas (knee) and Gael Clichy (back) had hurt themselves in the first leg of this tie. Johan Djourou damaged his knee on Saturday. Fit-again Mikael Silvestre was making his first start since January 3 and left back Kieran Gibbs had never been on from the start in a Champions League tie. Van Persie passed a fitness test on his groin to start up front alongside Adebayor. Samir Nasri and Walcott were either side of Alex Song and Cesc Fabregas in midfield. Denilson dropped to the bench where he joined the returning Eduardo and Abou Diaby. For their part, Villarreal had lost Santi Cazorla before the home tie and the influential Marcos Senna at the weekend. However, unlike last week, Manuel Pellegrini named Robert Pires in his starting line-up. The former Arsenal midfielder was still applauding a richly-deserved ovation from the home fans when the game kicked off. The pace had been relenting from the off at El Madrigal last week and it was exactly the same this evening. Only this time both sides were at it. Eight days ago Villarreal bossed the first half only for Arsenal to take over after the break. Tonight it was more level in the opening stages but the home side would take a 10th-minute lead. Before that, Walcott’s low cross was missed by Gonzalo Rodriguez at the near post and Fabregas collected before clipping a cross to Van Persie who nodded over. At the other end, Giuseppe Rossi’s deep free-kick was volleyed straight at Fabianski by Diego Godin at the far post. Fabregas then reached the byline and cut the ball back to Adebayor who twisted into space but could not quite control the ball. Both sides were full of pace and passing but Arsenal had the edge in both departments and would deserve their lead. Fabregas touched on a right-wing pass from Eboue and Godin slipped to allow Walcott clear into the channel. It was one-on-one but the England winger still had options to his left. He decided to go it alone and was proved right. He expertly scooped a shot over Diego Lopez and the ball seemed to hang for an eternity before dropping into the far side of the net. Pires’ shot deflected dangerously wide in the 16th minute and Bruno had an effort blocked shortly afterwards. Despite that Arsenal were still the better side. Adebayor saw a header clutched on the line by Lopez and then fell foul of the offside flag a couple of minutes later as Arsenal continued to create. On the half-hour, they thought they had scored again. Mati Fernandez hauled down Fabregas just outside the Villarreal area and Van Persie’s fast, dipping free-kick was palmed out by Lopez at the far post. Adebayor was quick to pounce and nodded the ball goalward, the backtracking Pires inadvertently chested it further towards the net only for Rodriguez to hack it off the line. Arsenal claimed the goal but replays proved referee Wolfgang Stark had called correctly. Fernandez planted a tame free-kick into the hands of Fabianski towards the interval but, in truth, another Arsenal goal seemed the more likely. Adebayor nearly profited in the six-yard area after Van Persie had pressured Rodriguez into an error and then the Togolese striker failed to capitalise following fine work from Eboue and Walcott down the right. But Villarreal were very much in the game and saved arguably their best chance of the half for injury time. Fernandez fired over a corner and Godin smuggled a header just over bar. Both the crowd and the players needed the interval. It had been a breathless first half but it was Arsenal who had the crucial advantage. All they had to hold on. But, then, that is not the Arsenal way is it? The start of the second half was more of the same. Villarreal were purposeful and precise but they were playing a passing game that Wenger’s has distilled to perfection at this Club down the years. It was the Sorcerers versus the Apprentices. On the hour, Van Persie pirouetted into space on the edge of the area and measured a pass to Adebayor on the left of the area. The striker prodded his shot pasti Lopez and into the far corner. It was his 16th goal of the season, his sixth in six Champions League starts this season and the cue for pandemonium at Emirates Stadium. Four Arsenal players – Adebayor, Eboue, Silvestre and Song - danced by the corner flag. Even Arsèmana Wenger could not resist a jig on the touchline. It was the crucial goal and afterwards Villarreal began to unravel. Godin clipped Walcott close to the right-hand byline and the referee pointed to the spot. It was a soft spot-kick to concede and Eguren’s protests earned him a second yellow card plus a red for free. Van Persie hammered the penalty home all the gusto and confidence displayed his team on the night. Arsenal were in the Semi-Finals. With that in mind, Wenger brought on Nicklas Bendtner and Diaby. The latter came closest to adding a fourth when he dragged his drive across the face of goal. The home crowd were now in celebratory mood. As is tradition, Rocky Rocastle was remembered insong but so was Pires. This was of course the farewell he had wanted after his last Arsenal appearance had seen him subbed in the Champions League Final of 2006. Quite rightly he was afforded a hero’s farewell as he left the pitch. Pires’s old side might just be heading back to the Final this year

'Our passing and pace caused many problems'
On 'playing to win' against Villarreal... "I announced before the game that we would play to win and you could see that with the team we had out. It was a very offensive team and we did it in a convincing way against a team who kept the ball well. But every time we won the ball back, we used our passing and our pace and caused them a lot of problems with that. "I believe that I was more impressed by the quality of our game and overall the speed of our game. Overall I believe against Villarreal who have a very good techincal level, we gave them problems where they didn't like it. That means going in behind them with the ball and being very explosive in our counter-attacking. We did that very well." On the confidence levels in the squad... "We have confidence and that is down to the slow progress we have accumulated from game to game in the championship. Confidence transfers from one competition to the other thats why we cannot choose any competition and just want to play well in every single competition." On Emmanuel Adebayor and Theo Walcott's goals... "In the first half sometimes I think he was a bit affected mentally because he was a few times offiside But now he is strong mentally and he just kept going and scored a great goal in the second half. "Theo's finishing - he is now calm in front of goal. The way he finished last week at Wigan and this week in a Champions League game shows that he will score goals." "Sagna was sick and he has played many games as well so we decided to send him home and rest him today, I knew that had Eboue who is as well very good and can play midfield, or right-back or anywhere." On the prospect of facing Man United in the Semi-Final... "I believe that both teams produce always very exciting games. Both teams like to go forward so it will be a promising Semi-Final. We are up for the challenge and it will be very interesting. It is always difficult to play an English team because of their quality. Psychologically it is not difficult but at the moment I believe that if you want to go far you have to play an English team at some stage. "Tonight I would first like to enjoy qualification. The history always has a little part to play. We are in a cup competition now over 180 minutes and what is important is the form of the day. You have two teams with the same programme. Both are in the semi-finals of the nothing Cup, both have a game in hand to play the week after. "It depends on the first result. We always go in the first game to try to score so let's play the first game. I believe that if you have to finish the game off it is a little advantage to have the game at home. Statistically it is significant in a big way - it is maybe 55 against 45 and in England - and in England it is even less significant because we know each other so well." On dealing with the early-season defeats... "I never doubted but when you dont win the game you wonder if you are right. I was always convinced but I was more worried about the confidence and the belief of a very young side. It is mentally very difficult when they do not win the games because its a bit more fragile than guys who have a big history behind them and have already gone through difficult periods. I was more worried about the mental side about what happened at the start of the season but they have dealt with that very well. This group is mentally strong." On the 'ultimate test' against Man United... "It is a test, but it is a challenge which we relish and we are excited about that. Before Man United, the most important is the Chelsea game. We have to focus on the short-term targets, and that is now Chelsea for us. I would not like to speculate on any weakness of Man United. We expect them to be strong on the day they play against us, and that should encourage us to be at our best and that is how we will try to play the game. "We have games before we play Man United, so let's try to continue our run, and start with Chelsea. We are still super-outsiders."

Fabianski signs new long-term contract
Arsenal Football Club is delighted to announce that Polish international Lukasz Fabianski has signed a new long-term contract with the Club. Fabianski, 24, joined Arsenal in 2007 from Polish club Legia Warsaw and has quickly established himself as an able deputy to Arsenal’s first choice keeper Manuel Almunia, making 18 first team appearances in the 2008/09 season across all competitions with nine clean sheets to his name. An agile and intelligent player, Lukasz has also made great strides on the international scene. A regular for Poland at Under-21 level, he was named in their squad for the 2006 World Cup before appearing in goal at Euro 2008 and more recently in 2010 World Cup qualifiers. Standard Liege 2 Arsenal 3
By Richard Clarke in Liege Arsenal started their Champions League Group H campaign with a bang by producing a stunning second-half comeback at Standard Liege on Wednesday. Arsèmana Wenger's side were 2-0 down after a crazy first five minutes. Eliaquim Mangala was given room to fire home a shot from just outside the area then William Gallas clipped Milan Jovanovic, who picked himself up and scored from the penalty spot. The Arsenal ship listed for a while but, on his 100th Arsenal appearance, Nicklas Bendtner scored on the half-time whistle to anchor them once more. The visitors dominated the second half and took their opportunities when Liege tired. Thomas Vermaelen forced the ball home from close range in the 79th minute, though replays suggested Alex Song may have been offside in the build-up. Eduardo twisted the knife two minutes later by nudging home a Cesc Fabregas corner with his knee. It was sweet ending to a bitter saga for the Croatian. He was only playing in this game because his European ban for "deceiving the referee" in Arsenal's last Champions League game had been annulled on Monday. This game was typical of Arsenal's season so far. Frenetic pace, loads of incident and netfuls of goals. But after that terrible start they were just grateful to be leaving with maximum points.. Even though Wenger was without nine players for Arsenal's first game in Belgium since 1993, the manager still decided to rest a 10th. Bacary Sagna was left on bench so Emmanuel Eboue operated at right back. The players left at home were: Manuel Almunia (chest infection), Theo Walcott, Denilson (both back), Robin van Persie (knee), Samir Nasri (leg), Andrey Arshavin (groin), Lukasz Fabianski, Johan Djourou (both knee) and Carlos Vela (ankle). Those absences meant keeper Vito Mannone came in for only his second appearance for Arsenal and only his sixth match as a professional. As expected, Tomas Rosicky made his first Arsenal start since January 2008. However it was somewhat surprising to see the Czech international employed on the right wing rather than the left. Eduardo took that role while Bendtner the central spearhead. What the Stade Maurice Dufrasne lacked in size and grace, it more than made up for in passion and intensity. This was industrial Belgium and the locals had a devotion to their side akin to Northern England. Before kick-off, the fans made Arsenal well aware they were on hostile territory. However they probably did not realise just how much until exactly four minutes, four seconds had elapsed. That was the time on the Liege scoreboard when Jovanovic stroked home from the spot to put the home side 2-0 up. What had transpired before that has been bewildering an excruciating in equal measure. Liege took the lead in the second minute with, from Arsenal's perspective, an entirely avoidable goal. Miscommunication between Mannone and Alex Song saw the defender give away a corner under little real pressure. Arsenal got away the initial ball but could not clear their lines. Mangala pounced and was afforded ample room to squeeze his shot between Mannone and the near post from just outside the area. Even Liege themselves seemed stunned at the early strike. But elation turned to ecstasy shortly afterwards when Gallas swept away the legs of Jovanovic just inside the area. The Serb kept his cool to stroke home from the spot. It is fair that the home crowd didn't in celebrating the goal! Arsenal were shell-shocked but, over the course of the next half-hour, gradually got some sort of game together. Eduardo had an effort blocked on the quarter-hour and Bendtner sent over a couple of dangerous low balls from the left. However Sinan Bolat was more caretaker than keeper. Yet, as half time approached, there was more incisiveness in their work. Eventually the reward came. In the final minute of normal time Diaby powered forward, shrugged off his assailant and slipped a pass into the path of Bendtner. The Dane slid his shot through the legs of Bolat and into the far corner. A bitter start, a better end. As the teams went off at the break, Arsenal had a lifeline and, just as importantly, some impetus. The second half could have seen two goals in less time than it had taken in the first. Dieudonne Mbokani found himself in space on the edge of the area in the opening seconds but his shot was blocked by Gael Clichy. Rosicky pinged a pin-point pass up the other end and only a perfectly-timed challenge from Mangala stopped Bendtner grabbing an equaliser. Arsenal were much better this half and sending their hosts into retreat but Liege were still threatening on the break. In the 57th minute, Wilfried Dalmat stormed down the right and, under pressure, Eboue hacked his low cross away from under his own bar. The visitors' pressure was not being translated into chances and, as the half wore on, this in itself gave Liege a little more confidence. Wenger replaced Rosicky with Aaron Ramsey and the Welshman immediately tested Bolat. The manager was just about to make another change when Arsenal drew level. In the 79th minute, Fabregas sent over a free-kick from the left. Eduardo flicked it on to Song at the far post. He nudged the ball back into the six-yard box where Vermaelen scrambled it home from close range. Replays suggested the Cameroonian was offside when Eduardo had nodded the ball on. Suddenly Liege were all at sea themselves. Eduardo might have grabbed a third almost immediately but Bolat made his first real save of the night. From the corner, Vermaelen's drive was booted off the line with the keeper stranded. The third came in the 81st minute. Fabregas fired in a corner from the left and Eduardo muscled in front his marker to turn the ball home from five yards with his knee. The 26-year-old kissed his knee by way of celebration. Eduardo was clearly relieved to have put a tough week behind him while his team had left with a win that had seemed light years away after that sloppy, sloppy start.

dulu tak suka arsenal, sebab dia musuh ketat MU...
tapi lah ni, bila dah tau falsafah bola sepak Wenger dan produk yang dia cuba ketengahkan....memang dialah satu-satunya manager yang faham apa yang membuatkan bola sepak itu unik............ lagipun team arsenal tahun ni player dia punyai sifat 'selfless' dalam diri banding tahun lepas.... keputusan wenger jual adebayor dan kolo toure memang ada asasnya.... and the results showed its color............. go gunners ----------------- "Let Allah be the ruler over your hearts"
